Methods
In my work with clients, I focus on creating a secure and healthy working relationship between myself and my clients. My approach is gentle, taking my cue from the client when it is okay to push and when we need to slow the work down temporarily. I see therapy as a collaborative effort and am flexible and sensitive to clients' suggestions and offer a variety of methods to go about addressing the issues. The work is experiential and holistic, taking into consideration the totality of a person.
In session we talk on a cognitive level and I assist clients in processing more deeply from a "subconscious" level; quieting the mind and learning to listen deep within to what is going on inside one's self.
Modalities frequently incorporated into individual sessions include: Gestalt, EMDR, Guided Imagery, Progressive Relaxation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Thought Field Therapy and Transpersonal concepts.
When working with couples, I use the theories of Imago, Emotionally Focused Theory (EFT) and The Bader's Developmental Model.
